Privacy Policy
Last updated October 1, 2026
The short version: we collect only what the archive needs to work: your email if you sign in, and what you choose to share. We don't sell your information or show ads, and we only use analytics cookies if you allow them. Ask us any time and we'll delete your account and content.
What we collect
- Things you share: photos, titles, stories, years, cities, tours, comments, likes, reports, and the name or handle you give us.
- Your email address, if you sign in. We use it only to send sign-in links and messages about your account. It is never shown on the site.
- Your display name, which is shown publicly next to your artifacts and comments.
- A guest ID. If you like or submit something without signing in, your browser gets an anonymous ID so the site can remember your likes and submissions on that device.
- Usage data, only if you accept analytics cookies: pages you visit, artifacts you open, likes, comments, searches, and filters, plus device type and approximate location (city or region). This is collected through Google Analytics. We never send Google your email address or display name.
- Basic technical data that our hosting providers log automatically, such as IP address, browser type, and time of visit, used to keep the site running and secure.
How we use it
- To run the archive: show artifacts, likes, and comments, and let you manage what you've shared.
- To review submissions and keep the community safe.
- To send sign-in emails, and alerts about activity on your artifacts.
- To understand, in aggregate, what fans engage with. The archive is fan-run and not affiliated with the band. If the band asks, we may share summary insights with them, such as which eras or items are most liked. These summaries never include your email address.
What's public
Approved artifacts, including the photo, story, and the name you credited, are visible to anyone. So are your display name, your comments, like counts, and your fan page. Photos that show people, such as tattoo photos, are public too, so only share images you and anyone pictured are comfortable having online. Please don't include private information, like addresses or phone numbers, in anything you post. If you appear in a photo on the archive and want it removed, email hello@l7archive.com.
Who helps us run the site
We use a few service providers who process data on our behalf, only to provide their service:
- Supabase: database, sign-in, and photo storage.
- Cloudflare: website hosting and security, and privacy-friendly visit counts if enabled.
- Resend: sending emails.
- Google Analytics: understanding how the archive is used, only if you accept analytics cookies. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy.
We don't sell or rent your personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers. We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users.
Cookies and local storage
Essential storage. The site stores a small amount of information in your browser so it works properly, such as your sign-in session, your likes, the name you used last, and your cookie choice. This is always on, and isn't used for tracking.
Analytics cookies (optional). The first time you visit, we ask whether you're OK with Google Analytics cookies (names starting with _ga), which help us see how fans use the archive. If you decline, Google Analytics doesn't load at all. We never use advertising cookies.
You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of any page. Clearing your browser's site data also resets it.
How long we keep it
We keep your content and account for as long as the archive runs or until you ask us to delete them. Rejected submissions and hidden comments may be kept for moderation records.
Your choices
- You can delete your own comments at any time.
- You can change your display name on your fan page.
- To remove an artifact, get a copy of your data, or delete your account and everything linked to it, email hello@l7archive.com. Depending on where you live, you may have other rights over your data, and we'll honor those requests.
Children
The archive isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has shared information with us, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security
We use reputable providers, encrypted connections, and access rules that limit who can see or change data. No online service is perfectly secure, so please share only what you're comfortable having public.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. Significant changes will be noted on the site.
